The Philosophy of Aristotle
The unmoved mover.
The nature of causality.
Judging an action by the virtuous intentions of the agent rather than the outcome.
Rational souls, animal souls, and… plant souls?
Aristotle (384–322 BCE) leaves behind a philosophical legacy that informs nearly every scientist, mathematician, politician, physicist, and theologian today.
In this academic seminar course, we will survey the philosophy of Aristotle through close examination of primary source texts and discover what Aristotelianism can still offer us in the 21st century. Beginners are not only welcome, but encouraged.
